Palm Beach Code School was a proud sponsor of SUP-X, a 2-day international conference and expo for the North American startup community. The event was held in greater Fort Lauderdale February 16-17, 2016.
SUP-X™ is focused on the entrepreneur and The StartUp Expo is the centerpiece of SUP-X™. The StartUp Expo was both a competition and a physical and virtual opportunity for startup and early-stage entrepreneurs to exhibit to and meet the 1500+ investors and others in attendance.
Attending were startup and early-stage entrepreneurs, angel and VC investors, technologists and service providers.
There were over 350 investors from throughout North America and 50 Startup Exhibitors from 27 North American cities competing for $50,000
Hosted by PBS “Startup” TV Series Host Gary Bredow, Keynote speakers included Jim Jensen of Ultimate Software and Serial Entrepreneur Rachel Braun Scherl. There were also 12 Panels comprised of 40 successful investors and entrepreneurs discussing relevant topics of interest.
Five finalists and 15 semi-finalists from across the company pitched their businesses to investors and other startup experts.
The top winner, who won $25,000 was Appelix in Jacksonville. Appelix has developed robotic drones for painting large bridges and skyscrapers. Torch of Chattanooga, and its Wi-Fi router for family came in 2nd place, winning $15,000, and Energy Bionics, of Wellington, Florida came in 3rd place with its mobile device-charging watch.
SUP-X was an amazing event, and Palm Beach Code School was proud to be a part of it.
