“We really enjoyed having David work at the school. His input was important to help us learn about tech-driven millennials.”
–Director Jim York
Can you tell me a little bit about yourself?
Hello my name’s David Seager. I’m 21 years old. I grew up in New Jersey, and have lived in south Florida for 6 years. I’m a senior at Florida Gulf Coast University pursuing a bachelors of science in software engineering with a minor in math (which has been completed).
What attracted you to the idea of doing an internship at Palm Beach Code School?
Working aside a group of like-minded individuals seeking growth excited me.
What was the internship like? Describe a typical work day for you at the school.
I worked with the team to help revamp the program outlines and schedules. Then I completed some research to help the director develop curriculum for our new iOS mobile program. Finally, I was privileged to be part of development for a new website for Palm Beach Code School, which is being built utilizing Javascript, CSS and HTML.
What was your favorite part of the internship?
The people I worked with on a consistent basis as well as the philosophy involved when making decisions that directly changed the course for the school.
Were you able to sit in on any of the classes? What courses would you like to take at PBCS?
Yes. I really want to take Palm Beach Code School’s web developer program, since it covers AngularJS and the Ionic framework.
What does the future hold for you? What type of job do you envision yourself doing after graduation?
I will likely be pursuing a masters of science in computer science.
We appreciate the work that David did for Palm Beach Code School and wish him the best of luck!
