Bio

Educational Background: B.S. Computer Science/ New York Institute of Technology

Kim is a freelance consultant whose interest in computers started in junior high school. By the time he graduated with a BS in Computer Science from New York Institute of Technology he had already worked on projects for several Fortune 500 companies. Kim specializes in HTML, CSS, PHP, MySQL, and JavaScript/jQuery.

Paul

Bio

Educational Background: B.A. Political Science/ Florida State University & M.P.A./ Florida State University & Certified Intern Web Master Instructor

Paul is currently Information Technology Director coming to us from a private school in the area and sixteen years of Information Technology experience. He is a Florida native with many family ties to old Stuart. Paul specializes in HTML, CSS, and Python.

Peter

Bio

Educational Background: A.A. Computer Science/ Palm Beach State College

Peter graduated with an Associate’s Degree from Palm Beach State College and is also Certified in Google Ads Search from Google. While new to the industry he specializes in WordPress.

Chris

Curriculum Instructed: Social Media Marketing Specialist

Bio

Educational Background: B.A. Advertising/Graphic Design/ Lynn University

Chris Downey is a full-time social media marketing specialist with his own company and created this course as a way to teach students in a hand-on way so that they can also learn what is needed to work in the field. Chris handles aspects of marketing such as branding, corporate identities, social media profiles, content creation and management, interactive marketing, analytics and SEO, as well as eCommerce and Public Relations.

Mel

Curriculum Instructed: Filmmaking Pre-Production, Casting, & Production

Bio

Educational Background: Certificate of Filmmaking / Palm Beach Film School

Michael Eldon Lobsinger (MEL) has written three short films, as well as produced, filmed, directed, edited and released twelve other film projects as a director or assistant/co-director. He changed his career suddenly in his forties and has been accomplishing many film projects as a fast pace. He’s completed his first feature screenplay, Carseat & Stationwagon in 2012 and by 2015, his eighth film, A Musical Heartache features a music video, She’ll Be Ok, written & performed by Bobby Gugliuzza, which won Best Music Video at the 2015 L-Dub Film Festival. MEL’s latest release in 2016 is his Independent Award Winning Short Film, Rotten Mangos. It has gone on to win six film awards during its Film Festival 2017-2018 run, which included Best Short Film (2017 FLIFF), and Best Screenplay (2018 TCIFF).

Michael

Curriculum Instructed: Filmmaking Screenwriting

Bio

Educational Background: M.A. Business Administration/ Nova University

Michael Chasin has won different accolades including two Best Screenplay awards for his original works and his storytelling skills have led him to screenplay consulting, rewriting, and most recently creating advertising concepts and narratives. Michael’s passion for story has also returned him to the classroom as a Screenwriting Instructor as well as to film festivals as an in-demand seminar presenter and frequent Best Screenplay Judge. In addition to film school Michael holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, a Master’s Degree in Human Resource Management, and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration.

Kathryn

Curriculum Instructed: Filmmaking Screenwriting and Post-Production/Film Editing

Bio

Educational Background: M.F.A. Cinema Directing/ Columbia College

Kathryn Lunte is has a Masters of Fine Arts in Cinema Directing from Columbia College in Chicago and has worked on dozens of projects ranging from a Writer, Director, and Editor for several indie films, to a Production Assistant on sets for major studios, such as Lovecraft Country with HBO. She has won several awards as well, such as Best Music Video from the Cavalier Film Festival, Best Editing from the Focus Film Festival, and Best Heartland College Student Short from the Kansas City FilmFest International.

Bio

Educational Background: M.A. TV Productions/ Brooklyn College

Ed Gigante has worked in Television and Broadcast Production for almost 40 years and was the Chairman for the Television/Radio and Film Production Magnet at Palm Beach Gardens High School for over 20 years. He is one of, if not the most seasoned of the industry in the area and a fount of knowledge for students in the post-production category.

Daniel (“Dang”)

Curriculum Instructed: Web Developer 101

Bio

Educational Background: B.S. Interdisciplinary Science/ Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute

Daniel “Dang” Griffith is currently working as an independent contractor. Dang grew up in Tampa, and earned his degree in Interdisciplinary Science, concentrating in Computer Science, Mathematics and Technical Writing. He worked in Silicon Valley for nearly 7 years, writing circuit design test editor, before moving to Ohio. In Ohio, he worked for a document management company, on projects supporting federal litigation and pharmaceutical clinical trials. From there, he worked for nearly 20 years for Northrop Grumman, as a team lead designer and developer. In all of these roles, he became involved in producing user documentation and training materials, and now brings that expertise to Palm Beach Code School. Dang specializes in PHP, MySQL, JavaScript/jQuery, and Python.

Alexis

Curriculum Instructed: Filmmaking Pre-Production, Filmmaking Production, & Social Media Marketing Specialist

Bio

Educational Background: A.A. Graphic Design/Keiser University & Certificate Filmmaking/Palm Beach Code School

Alexis Bleiler is a multi-faceted producer and editor who owns her own Videography and Photography Production company, Jaxel Media. She is well versed in video and photo editing, and began her filmmaking career in 2021. As part of her business, she also worked on branding, design, and social media influence for companies, and helps our students learn how to reach out to potential actors for casting calls and auditions.

Bio

Educational Background: B.S. Computer Science/ University of Connecticut

Tim Gallagher has been working in programming for almost 30 years and has worked as bother a Senior Programmer and Engineer at several different companies based out of Connecticut. He came to us to assist in developing our Angular Developer Program as well as assisting with other programs, such as our Web Developer 101.

Attended this school for Social Media Specialist and I enjoyed every night. I was able to take what I've learned instant and apply it to my own personal business and see immediate results. Chris our instructor was awesome he answered all of questions and pointed us in the right direction. Class sizes were small so it made it more intimate and be able to communicate with fellow students. I highly recommend this school for sure and I've seen the results. Jim the director is amazing he follows up and calls you to make sure everything is working out and enjoyed having me at the school .

I did two programs at Palm Beach Code School, Web Developer and Digital Marketing. Both were taught by industry professional who are still actively working in the field, vs a retired professional. In both courses the first class may seem overwhelming but I promise you once you finish it all make sense. They do a excellent job keeping in communication and working with your schedule. I now have a career as a web developer and I owe it to Palm Beach Code School and the instructor that worked with me and volunteered extra time if I was quite understanding the course load.

I just completed the Social Media and Digital Marketing class at Palm Beach Code School. Woohoo!!! I'll have my certificate in a few weeks! I'm celebrating, but can I add that I'm also really sad that I'll no longer have my class for a few hours on Mondays and Wednesdays. I've grown quite attached. The instructor Chris Downey was a truly generous and patient teacher. He's been in the industry for years and has a lot of industry experience, but along with that he has a great deal of information about the different social media platforms that he has to impart to students. The amount of information can seem overwhelming at first, but the great thing about Chris is that he's remarkably patient. He's willing to share all of his considerable knowledge. He makes himself available to his students, and he just has a kind disposition. He's also very supportive and encouraging of his students, and lets you know that you can and will learn all the different platforms and applications, that it just takes time and being in the industry. He's a gem for the code school and I hope he's appreciated. Jim York, who runs the school, is also very vested in the success of the students. My classmates were also all very generous with constructive feedback and willing to share their knowledge. It was a very positive experience. I would take a class there again. (For those who decide to take the course, it's a lot of information, but take it one step at a time. Be kind and patient with yourself, and know that you will learn it all over time, and Chris is always available as a resource.) Thanks Chris! Thanks Jim! Best school in town!
This course is not easy , but the instructors help with every step of the way. They make sure you actually grasp the concept prior to you leaving and getting a job. I cannot express my gratitude for all of the instructors that helped me along my journey. Every single instructor was a great help.

I want to start by saying that this program helped me redirect my life and figure out what career path I wanted to follow, the structure helped me develop a strong foundation, Instructors are incredible and always available to help. I recommend this to everyone!

The Web Development course at Palm Beach Code School was spectacular. All of the teachers went above and beyond to ensure that the students were getting all of the help that they needed. As a graduate of the web developer program, I highly recommend taking this course as it will be helpful, encouraging, and highly informative.

Quality instructors, small class size, and all the resources a person could need to learn a plethora of useful skills in the job market (Especially for South Florida). The school is way cheaper than other schools providing the same service, but also gives you everything you need to succeed. Don't forget to do your homework!

Don't be shy if you don't know anything about computer science. The curriculum is built from the ground up with the newbie in mind. Honestly, I don't think you're going to find more bang for your buck (even at a State College

The school owner, Jim York, is a great guy. He cares a lot about the students, picks out his instructors carefully, and provides the materials for the class as part of your tuition. This school is totally worth checking out!

The Web Development program was unbelievably affordable compared to other schools. One of the best decisions that I've ever made. The four months went by very quickly. Highly skilled and talented instructors. Small class sizes (my questions were answered immediately). Palm Beach Code School reignited my passion for coding and all things technology. Two thumbs up!

PBCS has created a unique experience for beginners that are interested in learning computer programming. I started with very little knowledge and graduated with valuable technical skills that will benefit me for life. The program is short enough that its not such a commitment like other higher learning institutions. But it was long enough to be introduced to the world of web development and instill a desire to learn more. The instructors are really friendly and throughout the course I made connections that will surely help me in my future career. Thanks for everything ☺❤
